Massimiliano Greco
Massimiliano Greco is a composer and pianist who graduated with the highest mark from the Conservatory "N. Piccinni" of Bari, where he studied with Maestro Hector Pell. He furthered his studies in musical composition with Maestro Ottavio De Lillo in Bari.
He has won several piano competitions and has specialized in piano with Tito Aprea, Alexander Lonquich, Maria Golia, Carla Giudici, and with Michele Campanella and Alexis Weissemberg at the "ACCADEMIA CHIGIANA" of Siena, one of the most famous music academies in the world.
For many years, he has specialized as a pianist and composer for ballet and contemporary dance. He has worked with the most world-renowned teachers, choreographers, and balletmasters, playing for different classical and contemporary "techniques."
In 2000, he was invited as a ballet pianist by the "HUBBARD STREET" DANCE COMPANY of Chicago during the Spoleto Festival. He was chosen as the Italian pianist for the Master-Classes of Vladimir Vassiliev during the International Dance competition of Caltanissetta in September 2001, and he was again invited to Caltanissetta for working with Elisabetta Terabust (2002) and Alessandro Molin's Master Classes (2003).
He has recorded a collection of CDs for classical ballet classes and choreographies, and his music is known worldwide.
He created a course of specialization as a "ballet pianist" and also a course about "Understanding and interpreting music in the ballet class" for teachers and students. He is invited to teach in many countries, primarily in Japan, where he is invited to play many times.
He composed the complete set music for the Character syllabus (Polish, Hungarian, and Russian styles) for D.A.I. - DANCE ARTS INTERNATIONAL, London. From 1998 to 2002, he was the President of the ASSOCIAZIONE REGIONALE PUGLIA DANZA/FEDERDANZA-AGIS, an organization of big dance events.
In September 2002, he became Ballet Pianist and teacher for History of Music and Music applied to Dance at the "Accademia Internazionale Coreutica" (International Ballet Academy) in Florence.
In April 2007, he was invited to Palermo to play for the Royal Ballet School's Outreach Program and for Teatro San Carlo School of Ballet. In July 2007, he was invited to Bolzano (Italy) by the National Foundation "Teatro Comunale" as the main teacher of a Course for Ballet Pianists sponsored and organized by the European Community.
In 2007/2008, he worked as Ballet Pianist at Teatro San Carlo Ballet School in Naples. In 2009, he was Ballet Pianist and Music Assistant at Ballet du Capitole, Toulouse (France).
Since August 2010, he has been the Main Pianist and Head of Music Department of Académie Princesse Grace at Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, Monaco. He is also the Main Teacher of the Princesse Grace Academy International Courses for Ballet Pianists.
In 2023 his music was used by the publishing house Il Narratore Audiolibri for the soundtrack of the audiobook "Emma" by Jane Austen available on all platforms such as Audible and others.
In 2023 he received the prestigious "Musica e Danza" Award at the Foligno Danza Festival for his piano career and for his activity as a composer in the world of dance.
