Ballet4Wellness - A

Seated and Barre

This class is created specifically for people who are more able bodied.  It includes a 45 minute class which includes seated exercises to warm up the body and get the blood circulation flowing, followed by a range of modified ballet exercises at the ballet barre to improve posture, balance and strength. We include arm and upper body exercises to improve the upper body strength and improve breathing. The leg exercises in this class focus on retaining muscle mass to improve gait, balance and coordination.

The beautiful music selection from pianists Massimiliano Greco and Nate Fifield inspires, cues and relaxes participants, helping reduce any tension held in the body. These classes are suitable for either the aged care, community centres, retirement villages or private home settings.

Ballet4AgedCare

This class is a 15 minute seated class which encompasses an extraordinarily immersive experience with Virtual Reality (VR) and the use of VR goggles.  This is a very new realm with VR technology and is the first of its kind to introduce a 360 Degree experience for teaching our unique Ballet4Wellbeing programme to residents. A combination of both our physical ‘in house’ Ballet4Wellbeing classes with the use of VR technology may be found to improve memory and we are looking to conduct research into any correlation.  These classes are suitable for the aged care setting and in-home services, and can be taught in a group setting or individually.

Ballet4Alzheimers

All prices are available on request for tailored packages according to need and budget.

This class is created specifically for people who have Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), early stage Alzheimer’s, and Dementia.

This 45 minute class has been designed to exercise both sides of the body and brain. These exercises are created to improve strength, coordination and posture and focus on simple cross lateral sequences that have been shown to improve cognition, situational awareness, and improve well-being. The exercises enhance a greater connectivity between the brain and the body which promotes focus and improved mood.

The music used in these classes is unique to the individual, or group. We know that music has the power to lift mood and evoke happy memories and associations. The playlists used for these classes are entirely bespoke to the participants.

The classes are suitable for either the aged care or private home settings and can be taught to individuals privately or in small groups of 4.

Ballet4Wellness - B

Seated

This 45 minute class is conducted entirely seated.  The seated exercises include a gradual warming up of the body concentrating on the use of breath and relaxing shoulder, arm and hand movements to release any tension and keep the upper body strong. The core exercises are very gentle. The leg exercises are developed to build and maintain muscle strength, taking into consideration the connection between muscle strength of the legs and cognitive health. Exercises created for feet improve circulation in the feet and lower legs and assist in the lifting of the feet, improving gait and reducing the risk of falls.

The beautiful music selection inspires, cues and relaxes participants, helping reduce any tension held in the body.

These classes are suitable for either the aged care, community groups, retirement villages or private house settings.
